'08 Chevrolet Silverado

Continuing its famous tradition in being one of the best pick-up trucks on the road, the 2008 Chevrolet Silverado picks up from where its earlier models left off, proving that it is indeed a contender that is here to stay at the top for a while.

The 2008 Silverado 1500 is a ‘half ton’ full-size pick-up truck and is available in four engine options. There is a 4.3 liter 195 hp V-6 engine, a 4.8 liter 295 hp V-8 engine, a 5.3 liter 315 hp V-8 engine and a 6 liter V-8, which all feature a four-speed automatic transmission.

Buyers can comprehensively fine-tune their requirements with an array of options regarding drive types, cab sizes, wheelbases, bed sizes, and different trim levels.

The 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features front passenger airbags, a tire pressure monitoring system, and all-wheel ABS. Most of previous 2007 model’s features have been retained in this year’s release.

Engine options come in two flavors: a 4.8L V-8 with 295HP and a 5.3L V-8 producing 315HP. Gas mileage for all variants hovers around 20MPG on the highway and 14MPG in the city, quite a feat for a large V-8 with such power under the hood.

The 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 weighs in at 5,148 pounds and capable of towing 8,700 pounds with a payload of 1,652 pounds. The 1500 is offered with Flex Fuel, allowing the buyers to use alternative fuels to power their vehicle.
